I teach Bharatanatyam at UrbanPro, and my journey with this classical art form spans over 18 years of dedicated learning and 3 years of professional teaching. Bharatanatyam has been a significant part of my life since childhood, shaping my discipline, creativity, and commitment to preserving this traditional dance while sharing it with students of all ages.
I hold a Master of Engineering (M.E./M.Tech.) degree, but my true calling has always been the world of classical dance. Alongside my academic achievements, I completed a diploma in Bharatanatyam, which provided structured training, theoretical knowledge, and deep artistic understanding. This blend of technical education and classical training helps me maintain a balanced, analytical, and expressive approach to teaching.
My experience as a Bharatanatyam artist has been rich and fulfilling. I have performed at various cultural festivals, temple events, and prestigious stages across the years. Teaching for the past 3 years has allowed me to guide students in developing grace, rhythm, coordination, and the expressive depth that Bharatanatyam demands. I take pride in seeing my students grow both artistically and personally through this dance form.
Some of my significant achievements include being a Guinness World Record Holder for a Bharatanatyam performance and being recognized as a B Grade Artist by Doordarshan, an honor that reflects my artistic skill and contribution to classical dance. I have also performed at renowned platforms such as the Natyanjali Festival and participated in various televised programs on Doordarshan, which have been major milestones in my artistic journey.
I am also the Founder of Rudhralaya Dance Academy, an institution built with the goal of blending tradition with inspiration. Through this academy, I aim to nurture students with discipline, technique, and the cultural richness that Bharatanatyam embodies. I believe in creating an environment where students feel encouraged, motivated, and connected to the art.
I offer both online and offline classes, ensuring accessibility for learners from different locations and backgrounds. My teaching approach is systematic, focusing on adavus, expressions, theory, and choreography, while gradually preparing students for performances and examinations. I also provide certificates to students upon completing their exams, acknowledging their dedication and progress.
Teaching Bharatanatyam is not just a profession for me—it is a responsibility to pass on a legacy. Through every class, I strive to instill devotion, discipline, and the timeless beauty of this classical dance form in all my students.
