Soumodipta D. - Trained Hindustani Classical Vocal Teacher | M.Mus, B.Mus | 8 Years Experience

I am a music teacher with 8 years of teaching experience in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music and Keyboard. I help students develop their musical abilities, improve their vocal techniques, understand the fundamentals of music, and gain confidence in their performances. I enjoy working with students at different stages of their musical journey, from beginners who are learning the basics to advanced learners who want to refine their skills. My aim is to make music lessons enjoyable, engaging, and effective while helping every student build a strong musical foundation.

I completed my Master of Arts (M.A.) in Music from Bengal Music College in 2025. My academic background has helped me deepen my understanding of music and strengthen my knowledge of vocal techniques and musical concepts, particularly in Hindustani Classical Music. Along with my educational qualifications, my practical teaching experience has helped me understand how to guide students through different stages of musical development. I focus on helping students develop a better understanding of rhythm, melody, voice control, and musical expression so that they can progress with confidence.

Over the past 8 years, I have taught students with different interests, learning abilities, and musical goals. I believe that every student learns music at their own pace, so I adapt my teaching methods according to their age, current skill level, and individual requirements. In Vocal Music lessons, I focus on improving voice quality, pitch accuracy, vocal control, and an understanding of classical music. In Keyboard lessons, I help students develop familiarity with the instrument, improve their playing techniques, understand musical notes, and build coordination. I encourage regular practice and gradual improvement to help students strengthen their skills and enjoy the process of learning music.

I offer both online and offline classes and teach in Bengali, Hindi, and English, allowing students to learn comfortably in the language they prefer. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel confident asking questions, practising new techniques, and exploring their musical interests. My teaching approach combines structured lessons with individual guidance to ensure that students develop their abilities step by step. Whether someone wants to begin learning music as a hobby, strengthen their classical vocal skills, or improve their keyboard playing, my goal is to help them grow musically, express themselves through music, and develop a lasting appreciation for the art.
