I have over 18 years of teaching experience at Saifee Golden Jubilee English Public School, an ICSE board school located in Park Street, Kolkata. I teach Mathematics to students from Classes 5 to 8, and also serve as the Senior School Coordinator. Over the years, I have taught numerous students who have appeared for ICSE board examinations and have helped them build a strong foundation in the subject. I have also served as a Supervising Examiner for ICSE board exams and have been involved in evaluating board papers, giving me in-depth familiarity with exam patterns and assessment standards. I have over 24 years of teaching experience in Mathematics, having taught in reputed schools in Kolkata. For the past 18 years, I have been teaching at Saifee Golden Jubilee English Public School, an ICSE board school located in Park Street, Kolkata. Prior to that, I spent 6 years teaching at another private school, gaining valuable classroom experience. In addition to my school responsibilities, I have also been conducting private tuition classes for many years, where I have taught students from a variety of boards, including ICSE, CBSE, and international curricula like IGCSE. This has helped me adapt my teaching methods to suit the academic needs and learning styles of different students. I focus on building strong conceptual understanding, using simple explanations, regular practice, and real-life examples to make Mathematics easy and engaging. I believe in creating a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages students to ask questions, develop confidence, and improve steadily. When planning my lessons, I always begin by understanding the student’s current level, school curriculum, and areas of difficulty. I then create a structured lesson plan tailored to their needs—balancing concept explanation, examples, and regular practice exercises. Each session builds on the previous one to ensure the student progresses steadily and gains confidence. My tutoring technique is based on clarity, patience, and continuous reinforcement. I simplify complex mathematical topics through easy-to-follow steps and real-life examples, which helps students connect with the subject. I also use a problem-solving approach, where students are encouraged to think independently while I guide them with prompts and support. One of my strengths is identifying where students are stuck and helping them overcome that barrier—whether it's fear of the subject, lack of fundamentals, or exam anxiety. I regularly give revision sessions, timed practice tests, and exam strategy tips, especially as they approach board exams. My specialities include working with students from ICSE, CBSE, and IGCSE boards, particularly in Classes 5 to 10, where building a strong base in Mathematics is crucial. Many of my students have shown remarkable improvement not just in their marks but also in their attitude and confidence toward Maths.
