Colin Leonard Janong Sooting

I am Colin Leonard Janong Sooting, a simple minded and humble human being, who was born and raised in Kolkata and stayed here for the initial 25 years of my life. In that time, I was educated in the then top rated school of St. Xavier's Collegiate School on Park Street, now known as Mother Teresa Sarani; went on to graduate with a B.Com (Hons) degree from St. Xavier's College (Autonomous) under Calcutta University with a first division and also visited IIM Calcutta for a year before dropping out and following a deeply rooted passion of being a teacher. Always having been a student that struggled to compete for marks, yet being motivated towards finding ways to excel as an individual, I figured that coaching others through my experiences could benefit students alike to build confidence and gain interest in the subjects that seem daunting would be an accomplishment to my social responsibility. Making a mindful decision based on the options available to me, I started my humble yet insightful journey on the path without looking back. In the decade of tutoring the multiple students, whose parents had entrusted in my care; I have had a 100% success rate in imparting the learning techniques to allow the student to build confidence in their capabilities of facing the problems they encounter while studying which in turn has increased their marks in the subjects where they need help the most. I have made a positive change in more than 300 youthful lives and changed their perception on how studying should be to get the most out of it. As an educator and tutor, I have an unconventional method to go about bringing the best out of a student which deviates from traditional teachers which have adjusted to the schooling systems of this day and age. Each student that is entrusted in my care is given ample time to be understood before embarking on their journey with me. Teaching for me is more than just getting the student to perform better with their grades. It is a process of building a bond with the individual to understand their mindset on how they view life itself, provide them real life examples in what they are learning so they can use it practically and help them better themselves without feeling pressured to study. With my holistic view while educating a student, I draw the best out of the student in a friendly, safe, non-demeaning, motivating environment especially in subjects that most have found it difficult to break free from mental barriers. Having the experiences with multiple young, delicate, beautiful minds; I have been encouraged by my students to keep pursuing my vision which has left them better off and that to me is the only certification I need. I prefer hosting one-on-one interactions with the student at their residence as it is the most comfortable for them and they get the much needed attention required for their personal development. Hiring me to assist your offspring through their needs could be a life changing experience for them to meet a patient, calm, understanding, competent, highly experienced individual like me.
Apart from Mathematics, based off of my educational qualifications, I am more than competent in teaching and providing understanding in Commercial related subjects of Economics and Commercial Applications. With my fluency and control over the English Language, I can also provide aid in Spoken English and English Grammar.
