In a given reference frame having a fixed origin Position vector will be a vector associated with a single point in space. At the same time, the displacement vector refers to two given points. For the two given points Displacement vector can have two possible directions, which are opposite to each other. But for position vector, it will have only one fixed direction in a fixed reference frame, which will be starting from the origin and ending at the point in question.
