A dance performer by choice and profession, I have done various stage shows in different places across India. I started learning dance at the age of five under Mr. Kalamandalam Shashi Kumar and Mrs. Kalamandalam Saraswathi. For around ten years I worked with them and took part in variety of programs and participated in many competitions at the school and college levels. I also won the prestigious honor of Kalathilakam in the year 1994 at the inter-college level. It is one of the greatest honors bestowed upon artistes by the Kerala University. After my college education I joined Mrs. Kalavijayans (daughter of Mohiniyattam legend Kalamandalam Kalyanikutti Amma) Mohiniyattam class, and worked with her for three years. After this rewarding experience I joined R. L. V (Radha Lakshmi Vilasam) College of Music and Fine Arts, Thripunithura, and pursued my passion for dance for three years. Kalamandalam Ramakrishnan (for Main Course Mohiniyattam) was my Guru in the college. My subsidiary subjects for graduation were Bharathanatyam, Abhinaya Sangeetham and some traditional Folk dances.
