Electron: An electron is a very small, negatively charged sub-atomic particle present outside the nucleus of an atom. In metals, some electrons are loosely bound and can move freely. Electricity: Electricity is the flow of free electrons through a conductor such as a copper wire. In simple words: 👉 Electricity = Flow of electrons Electrons move from the negative terminal to the positive terminal. Power vs Energy: Energy: Electrical energy is the total amount of electrical work done or electricity consumed. Example: If a fan runs for 5 hours, the total electricity used is called energy. Unit: Joule (J) or kilowatt-hour (kWh) Power: Power tells us how fast electrical energy is being used. Example: A 100 W bulb consumes energy faster than a 40 W bulb. Unit: Watt (W)
