Teaching and Learning English can be a very enriching experience both for the teacher as well as the student. I've had the opportunity of teaching students aspiring to learn English as a subject in school and college and also preparing students appearing for b.ed exams.I'm quite capable of handling vernacular students ie students from Hindi medium educational institutions and English medium schools and colleges with equal expertise. I have been teaching in schools in kolkata and have been giving tuitions to students from various institutions. My aim has always been to make an individual fluent in the language so much so that he or she may be able to speak confidently at all times. I have also guided a few students during their b.ed practicals and this has been helpful to them in conducting classes . My knowledge in this subject is constantly enriched by the various books journals and novels I keep reading during my leisure hours
My firm belief is that once a child learns the language adequately he/she starts to think in terms of English only and the is an achievement in itself . I'm grateful to my teachers in the convent where I learnt to read more and more of English literature and language other with equal interest . This prompted me to devour novels by various writers and novelists. Today I look forward to teach students preparing for competitive exams where English as a paper is mandatory.
