'Avartan' is a cycle which means starting from beat 1 to beat 1 again and again.
Every 'Tal' is a composition of different no of counts. E.g. Teental is of 16 beats. So when you start from beat 1 and come back to beat 1 after completing calling 1 2 3 ..... Upto 16 is it said that it is an avartan completed.
