Ask a Question
A covalent bond is nothing but the instead of giving and taking the electron pair; there is sharing of electron pair between atoms.
Carbon has a valency of 4. Giving up or taking the whole 4 electrons will take up a lot and a lot of energy. Hence, sharing comes where there is no complete transfer but just sharing the electrons, and carbon combines with other elements by a covalent bond or sharing its electron and forming many other compounds called Organic Compounds.
