A function in JavaScript is a block of reusable code that can be called or invoked to perform a specific task. Functions can be standalone entities and don't need to be associated with an object. They can accept inputs (arguments) and return outputs (return values). On the other hand, a method is a function that is associated with an object. It is a function that is defined inside an object and can access and manipulate its properties and other methods.
