Are you asking (a) “What is it missing to make it all-encompassing?” or are you asking (b) “What is missing to make it as good as other languages?”If you’re asking (a), then every programming language has a significant lack of features, but most of those are omitted deliberately to ensure that the language does not become an unwieldy behemoth. If you’re asking (b) then you have misunderstood the complaints about JavaScript. It’s not that it’s missing anything. It has too much. It supports ALL paradigms (functional, imperative, declarative, OO, non-OO, etc.) and it is way too forgiving of programmer error (missing semicolons, lack of type declarations, type inference, etc.), and it has libraries and frameworks galore. It is effortless, in Javascript, to write a crapload of jibberish that cannot be debugged or extended because of this. That’s what everybody seems to be complaining about, including me.It’s a large battery-powered Swiss Army knife with a hammer, a buzz saw, a pitchfork, and thirty-seven other fold-out blades. And when you build something with Javascript, it shows - the source code looks like it was made with a buzz-saw and pitchfork. We want a few precision tools instead. read less

Type safety is still a issue with javascript becasue variable declaration is not mandatory and also we will not specify the data type while declaring the variable.
