As some teachers suggested, association, make a story etc may help your learning! For example, Nozomi(means hope or wish) kanji is like this ? Do you know each parts? This is a combination of ?(gone, died)??(moon)? (king). Shall we make a story? (King was sad because he lost his moon, and he wants moon again.) This sentence includes all parts, meaning and sound(yomikata) all together. There are many strategies for learning Kanji. You may find more information online too. It is very simple just try to understand the picture behind Kanji..its pictorial script, try to learn pictures and related to Kanji not words.
