If you can handle this then its not a problem for a guy like you. There are many technologies you can choose from. My suggestion is virtualization. if you have proficiency in what you want to do then age will be a plus as you are mature enough and can tackle situations where young chaps sometimes fail. read less

Though having done engineering would help, it is not mandatory. There are numerous people who did BA or BCom, and after entering into this field, went on to become experienced and a good job. Once you have got some experience in a job after CCNP, you should go for the Cisco CCIE which will then open lot of better opportunities. But please make sure to enroll with a institute which has a good lab infrastructure as it is critical in understanding the core concepts of networking. Theory classes alone would not help much.
