No Language is difficult if described and explained the way one understands and remembers easily. 12-year kids start thinking logically so they can understand. As far comparison is concerned, some say C/C++ is much easier then Python and others may have a different opinion.
The actual thing is how the subject is being delivered. Delivery of topic varies if a learner is an engineer and other is a novice.
