I used to singing khayal 10 year's and I have very good experience of tabla. Now I am performing Dhrupad since last 4 year's and i have a relationship with Pakhawaj.

Is it important to have knowledge of classical music to learn any instrument?
I would say, u need to have knowledge of music and being a good rasika of music is more than enough to learn any instrument. Bcz if one is passionate and dedicated , that's higher than knowledge.

Where is the best place to buy Tabla in Bengaluru
A good place to check out is the Balepet area near the City railway station. There are a few small but very authentic tabla makers there. If you know how to recognize a quality tabla when you see one, this is the place to go.
