Is it beneficial if someone takes Indian Classical Vocal lessons from a trainer of same gender ?

I dont think it makes much difference...some times you will get the only benefit of Scale....otherwise the teacher has to shift into your Scale to teach you but in same gender case, you will find no scale shifting issues...

Who decided that black 1/2 is for males n 4/5 is for females. A classical singer is the one who can sing in any scale and covers the whole range of harmonium.

Hello Himanshu, No there is no such benefits of learning vocals from same gender as music has nothing to do with it,only thing that matters is way of teaching and knowledge as well.

yea, learning from same gender keeps you learning in almost same scale you are comfortable in. While in opposite gender, one can face the problems of scale..... Hello Ishaan...I think you are having problem because there are jumping notes. Re and Pa are not used in this Raaga so, take the SapaT as you take simple ChhuT Taans. And try to keep the Daanas even. You will improve I'm sure. Best of luck!
