Java throws keyword is used to declare an exception. Checked exception can be propagated with throws. Throws is followed by class. Throws is used with the method signature. You can declare multiple exceptions e.g. public void method()throws IOException,SQLException.

Yes. Many languages have no pointers. In fact, most post-C++ languages in common use don’t have them. Java has no pointers; only references to objects. You won’t find a pointer in Python, PHP, Haskell, or Scala. (Of course, you can argue about whether nullable references are “pointers” or not, but for me the critical distinction is that you can’t perform arithmetic on references.) Many earlier languages lack pointers as well. Lisp doesn’t need them, and most BASIC variants don’t support dynamic allocation at all. Many stack-based languages lack pointers (although Forth has them!) Of course, some of these languages do support wrapping up a pointer from C code into some sort of object, in order to use a C or C++ library. And underneath, at the machine level, there are still plenty of pointers in use— you just can’t access them.
