Teaching Experience in detail in Class 8 Tuition
For the past three months, I have been tutoring a Class 8 girl following the IGCSE curriculum, and it has been a genuinely rewarding experience so far. What makes this particular role interesting is the sheer range it demands; I am teaching her across four very different subjects: Mathematics, Science, English, and Social Studies (Humanities). This means each session requires a different mindset, whether it is breaking down an algebra problem, discussing a historical event, analyzing a piece of literature, or explaining a scientific concept. Managing this multi-subject rhythm smoothly has taught me a lot about pacing and adapting on the fly, and I have genuinely enjoyed watching her grow more confident across all four areas over these months. What I did not quite expect going in is how much I have learned myself through this process; working closely with the IGCSE syllabus has given me real exposure to a curriculum structure quite different from what I grew up with, and it has pushed me to think more critically about how concepts are framed, taught, and assessed internationally. In many ways, this experience has been as much about my own growth as an educator as it has been about hers.
