IdentityI have been teaching English Literature, Social Sciences andHumanities for the past three years. Throughout this educational journey I have felt justified inthinking that without relevant connections across different disciplinesteaching becomes just a boring and repetitive exercise for both the teachersand the learners. This experience has further deepened my faith in a trulyinterdisciplinary approach to teaching to which I got quite enthusiasticresponse in all the institutions I have worked for. My formal academic training has been in the disciplines ofHistory, English Literature, Comparative Literature, Education and the EnglishLanguage. But early on I realized the critical importance of interdisciplinaryapproach to study the Social Sciences/Humanities. This realization has beendeeply inspiring and has prompted me to delve into a wide range of subjectssuch as Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology and Media Studies. Andintellectually it has been hugely rewarding to see the connections that runquite deep across all these subjects that together constitute the domain ofSocial Sciences/Humanities. Having taught literature through aninterdisciplinary approach for nearly three years now, I shall be immenselyhappy to consider teaching any of the following subjects: History/PoliticalScience/Sociology/Media Studies/Philosophy/Lit.
