I would like to share my experience as an English and Hindi tutor for the past three years. With a Bachelor's degree in English and currently pursuing my Master's, my passion lies in helping students understand the true essence of learning and enhancing their knowledge beyond the traditional "book worms" system.
I have been providing home tuition to thirty-two students, specifically teaching English and Hindi to ninth and tenth-grade students following the ICSE syllabus. In addition to in-person classes, I also conduct online courses for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
My approach to teaching involves a brief introduction to the topic, ensuring that students understand the whole text, and focusing on grammar skills. To make the learning experience more engaging, I often use picturesque visual diagrams on the blackboard to simplify complex concepts and make them easier to understand. These diagrams help students visualise the information, making it more memorable and accessible. I also provide comprehensive notes and question-answer sessions to reinforce the learning process. Regular tests are conducted to assess my student's progress and identify areas requiring further attention.
My ultimate goal as an educator is to instil a love for learning in my students and help them develop critical thinking skills. I strive to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and ideas. I believe that true learning goes beyond rote memorisation and should encourage students to think critically, analyse information, and apply concepts in real-life situations.
One of the critical aspects of my teaching philosophy is to remove the "bookworms" system of learning, where students are solely focused on memorising information from textbooks without genuinely understanding the underlying concepts. I aim to foster a deep understanding of the subjects I teach, encouraging my students to ask questions, engage in discussions, and develop their perspectives.
