ibes would worship the gods together, and they would have weddings and funerals with dance as an integral part. When primitive peoples were getting ready to go out to hunt, they would perform dances to gain the favor of their gods.

It is not the same to dance as a young hunter or as an old and experienced one. Along the same lines, I guess it was also used as a part of ceremony rites of passage. Tribes were dancing for important events like birth, death or as a part of initiation into adulthood. Then also it had deeply religious role. Tribes danced to be in contact with the spirits. read less
