How to hire a good teacher for my kid? what qualifications should he have

The first thing is a way of teaching. Then what they are teaching. Experience is also essential. But in my opinion, to judge a good chess coach by rating is not suitable if the student is less than an 1800 FIDE rating.

You have to find a teacher who teaches the students by understanding their needs, week, and strong points. Only then they would be able to handle the student with excellence.
