The idea that Hindi is "killing" other Indian languages is a contentious issue and can be viewed from multiple perspectives: 1. **Cultural Concerns**: Many regional language speakers feel that the promotion of Hindi in education, government, and media can marginalize their languages, leading to a decline in their usage and prestige. 2. **Political Context**: Historical tensions and political movements, particularly in states like Tamil Nadu, highlight the resistance against Hindi imposition, reflecting fears of cultural erosion. 3. **Language Shift**: In urban areas, there may be a trend toward bilingualism or a preference for Hindi and English for economic opportunities, potentially at the expense of local languages. 4. **Promoting Diversity**: Conversely, some argue that Hindi can coexist with other languages and can serve as a bridge for communication while respecting linguistic diversity. Ultimately, the survival of regional languages depends on active promotion, education, and cultural support. Balancing the use of Hindi with respect for all languages is crucial for India's linguistic heritage. read less

No. Hindi is not killing other Indian languages. The regional languages are flourishing in their native regions, like Gujrati, Tamil, Marathi, Punjabi and others. All the languages co-exist. Still English is dominating as official language in most of the states.
