Very similar. Many words are common in both the language with the slight difference in pronunciations. There are a lot of similarities so much so that if you spend few weeks with nepalis you would grasp it easily. many words and their meanings are similar or mostly same in both Hindi and Nepali.

नेपाली और हिंदी दोनोँ ही भाषाओं की लिपि ( लिखावट) देवनगरी लिपि है। दोनों ही भाषाओं में स्वर और व्यंजन लगभग समान है। दोनों ही भाषाओं का उच्चारण लगभ समान हैं।
