Keyboard based instruments only share the approach to how the notes are laid out (Octaves where the C major scale is placed on the white keys while the C# pentatonic scale is placed on the black keys). Nothing else. A piano has a little more than 7 such octaves. Your average keyboard has about 4–6 octaves (5 being the most common). The Accordion, Harmonium, xylophone, etc., have 2 - 3 octaves. Besides these traditional types there are other newer instruments such as the Moog Synths, bass pedals, Seaboard, etc., that rely on the musicians knowledge of the keyboard layout, to make music. None of these instruments share the same key-size either. Keys on a piano may be longer (and heavier) than those on an accordion. The Bass pedals (keys) on an (Pipe or Hammond) Organ are couple of feet in length. These points are important to note, because, over time, when you get used to playing one instrument, your muscle memory develops and adjusts your fingers to play certain passages on a particular keyboard layout. Now, if you try to play on another instrument, where the keys are placed differently (bigger, longer, heaver, etc.,) You may not be able to easily play the piece. Be aware of this before you try to apply your knowledge of harmonium, on the piano. read less
