Peeyush Athankar

I am currently pursuing a BS-MS Dual Degree in Biological Sciences at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata. My academic journey began with a strong foundation in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the senior secondary level, where I rigorously prepared for national-level competitive examinations. This preparation not only strengthened my conceptual clarity but also gave me a structured approach to problem-solving, which I now bring into my teaching.

Alongside my coursework, I completed a summer research internship in Structural and Molecular Biology, where I worked on projects involving antimicrobial resistance, PCR amplification, Gibson assembly, primer design, and gel electrophoresis. This hands-on experience allows me to connect textbook knowledge with real-world applications and makes my teaching more relatable and practical.

I have also been actively involved in peer-to-peer teaching and mentoring, where I have explained complex topics in Biology and Chemistry to fellow students and juniors. My approach focuses on simplifying concepts, strengthening fundamentals, and making learning interactive. With a balance of academic rigor and research exposure, I aim to guide students effectively in both their school-level studies and competitive exam preparation.
