Sir,
The most challenging thing is to teach elementary school student, as they are not matured enough to understand the importance of education. So it's natural for him not to be interested in the study as it bears no significance to him personally.
In my opinion, it is best to let him do what he loves to do and integrate study with it. It can be done in many ways. To illustrate the point, let's say we want to teach him multiplication table. We can write down the table on the stairs, and each time he jumps to the next stair, he can recall the multiplication table written there.
I hope this suffices my point. This method can be easily extended to make your son learn(memorise/conditioned to be precise) anything.
