How do I understand the record layout of a file (structured data) in Hadoop HDFS, if no layout was provided and person who loaded the data into HDFS left?

When you create a storage location on HDFS, Vertica stores the ROS containers holding its data on HDFS. You can choose which data uses the HDFS storage location: from the data for just a single table or partition to all of the database's data. read less
