Can we use distcp to copy data residing on local file system to hdfs cluster for faster transfer? If yes then how?

distcp is used to copy data from one cluster to another cluster. copying from local file system to hdfs can be done using hdfs put command. if data need to be copied from hdfs to local system - then hdfs get can be used.
