"I have been learning Hindustani classical singing with my teacher for some time now, and it has been a very enriching experience. As someone who started learning singing later in life, I was initially unsure about my ability to understand and reproduce the finer nuances of classical music. My teacher has been extremely patient and encouraging throughout the journey. What I particularly appreciate is the systematic approach to teaching. We work on the fundamentals of swar, alankars, scales, and komal swaras, and gradually move towards applying these concepts to songs. The attention to sur and the finer details of singing has helped me become much more conscious of my voice and pitch. The feedback after each practice is very specific and constructive. Whether it is correcting a swar, improving the movement between notes, working on the higher octave, or adding the right expression and harkat, the guidance is always clear and helps me understand exactly what I need to improve. I also really appreciate that my teacher focuses on getting the basics right rather than simply moving forward. This has helped me develop a much better understanding of Hindustani classical music and has made my practice more meaningful. I have genuinely started enjoying the process of learning and look forward to my classes every week. I would highly recommend my teacher to anyone who is looking for a patient, knowledgeable, and systematic music teacher, whether they are a beginner or someone looking to strengthen their classical singing foundation."
