I have teaching experience in drawing fundamentals within the IB PYP framework, where my focus has been on helping students build a strong technical foundation through both theoretical understanding and practical application. I guide students in developing core drawing skills such as line quality and control, shape construction, proportion, spatial awareness, perspective, and tonal shading. I break these down into simple, structured concepts—for example, understanding how complex forms can be built from basic shapes, or how light direction affects shadow placement. This helps students not only draw better but also understand why they are drawing in a certain way. From a technical standpoint, I train students in observational drawing, including still life and real-world references, to improve accuracy and attention to detail. I also introduce essential shading techniques such as hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, and blending, enabling students to create depth, volume, and texture in their work. Basic perspective exercises (one-point and two-point) are used to strengthen spatial understanding. In terms of theoretical learning, I help students grasp concepts of light and shadow, form, negative space, composition, and proportion systems, which are crucial for developing consistency and confidence in drawing. These ideas are reinforced through practical exercises, ensuring that students can immediately apply what they learn.

With a degree in Fine Arts with a strong focus on painting, I have developed both technical and conceptual approaches to the medium. I currently work as a Visual Arts teacher at an IB school, where I guide students through the fundamentals of painting such as colour theory, brush techniques, composition, layering, and material understanding. My teaching emphasizes building strong basics while encouraging students to explore their own creative voice. Alongside teaching, I also approach painting through the lens of art therapy, using it as a tool for emotional expression and reflection. This helps students connect more deeply with the process rather than focusing only on the final result. In addition, I have freelanced as a workshop facilitator, conducting painting sessions for groups and individuals.
