Yes, but C++ is faster. Java used in built libraries and implementation whereas in C++ you've to sometimes write an implementation by yourself. This makes C++ better if you want to gain mastery over coding. Community support in both is almost same.

I think it can take anywhere around one month if you go by resources like books and youtube tutorials. Main focus should be on creating small projects which can take another 1 month. So in all 2 months are more than enough for Java if you give 3 dedicated hours each day. You can find detailed syllabus... ...more

Though .NET is faster and has better memory performance, Java is better at inter-operability (can be used at different platforms) than . NET when you consider their open-source compatibility.
