Guitar and sitar are very different. Basically Guitar is a western instrument and sitar is a classical instrument. On guitar, you can play rhythm and lead both. But on sitar you can play lead only. The only thing that relate them both is that both are string instrument.

Is it possible to learn guitar from the internet and how much time it will take?
Yes. It is possible to learn from Internet. But I must say a teacher is pretty much required in the beginning because if you learn a wrong technique in the beginning then it becomes very difficult to unlearn then. Hope it helps. Best of Luck dear.
