This depends on what you mean by learning to play.
Learning can be a constant process that never ends as long as you continue to play if your goal is to always better yourself as a guitar player.
However if learning for you is just picking up basic chords and playing songs with them then that is something that can be accomplished in a certain duration of time provided you practice regularly and don't give up. Getting a teacher who can guide you is a good thing to do.
I would not put a limit of one week and instead just focus on getting as much practice as I can to get where I want to get.
