I'd suggest you buy a beginner level guitar(around 2-3k) to start. Your music teacher might allow you to practice during class but rest of the time you'll need your own. So I suggest 'Givson' as a good option for beginners. It decent in terms of quality and affordable.

Owning the instrument will help you make a bond with it and you will feel more like that it's a part of your life that you were missing, as you get better playing it!

i have been playing for around 6 years, and having an instrument is good, but not a requirement, notes are sounds, sounds can be in your head. It is good to have an instrument, but not "needed".

You need a guitar to practice for sure. Doesn't matter if you own it or somebody else owns it
