Teaching English has never been merely a profession for me; it has always been a natural extension of my upbringing, values, and lifelong passion for education.

I come from a family deeply rooted in the field of learning and academia. My grandmother served as the Junior Headmistress of La Martiniere School, Kolkata, for over two decades, dedicating her life to shaping young minds with discipline, integrity, and excellence. My mother, an accomplished English teacher, devoted her entire career to fostering a love for language and literature in her students. Growing up in such an environment, education was not simply encouraged—it was woven into the fabric of everyday life.

English has always been my first language, and I was educated through the Cambridge curriculum, which provided me with a strong foundation in communication, critical thinking, and linguistic proficiency. From a young age, I discovered immense satisfaction in helping others learn. I regularly volunteered with institutions that provided educational support to underprivileged children and spent much of my school years tutoring students of various ages and abilities.

Today, I teach spoken English to both children and adults, continuing a journey that has been close to my heart for as long as I can remember. I intentionally limit my classes to one-on-one sessions because I firmly believe that meaningful learning occurs when a teacher can devote their complete attention to an individual student. Every learner possesses unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations, and I take pride in tailoring my approach to meet their specific needs.

My teaching philosophy is built upon a balance of professionalism and genuine human connection. While maintaining high standards and clear objectives, I place equal importance on creating a warm, supportive, and engaging environment in which students feel comfortable expressing themselves without fear of judgment. I believe that confidence is the foundation of effective communication, and confidence flourishes when students feel respected, understood, and encouraged.

Particularly when working with children, I reject the notion that learning should be imposed or endured. Education is most effective when curiosity is nurtured, enthusiasm is inspired, and students genuinely look forward to each lesson. By fostering a positive and enjoyable atmosphere, I find that progress often occurs naturally and with remarkable ease.

My objective extends far beyond teaching grammar, vocabulary, or pronunciation. I strive to empower my students with the confidence, fluency, and communication skills necessary to express themselves clearly, articulate their ideas effectively, and navigate both academic and professional environments with assurance.

For me, teaching English is not simply about language—it is about unlocking potential, building self-belief, and helping individuals find their voice.
