No, there is no validity of the Certificate. Validity only matters when you are taking admission to a higher level.
Like you have given the exam of B1 and passed it, and you want to take admission in B2 in Goethe institute. If your certificate is more than six months old, you have to assess; otherwise, you can get access based on the certificate. Rest for other works; the certificate is valid any time.
