IdentityI am a trained Kathak dancer and teacher, passionate about passing on this classical art in a way that feels rooted, structured, and joyful for every student. Over the years, I have focused on building a clear understanding of taal, footwork, spins, abhinaya (expression), and storytelling, so that students do not just copy movements but truly understand what they are dancing.
In my classes, students learn systematically: from basic posture and tatkaar to tukde, tora, aamad, paran, and small choreographies suited to their level. I pay special attention to clarity of bols, rhythm training, and body alignment, while also explaining the meaning behind compositions, mythological stories, and bhav so that students can connect emotionally with the piece.
I teach in a supportive, encouraging way and welcome complete beginners as well as students who have learnt Kathak before and want to refine their technique. Classes can be tailored for different age groups and goals - whether you want to learn Kathak as a hobby, prepare for stage performances, improve confidence and grace, or work towards exams and certifications over time.
