“The purpose of education is not to fill a mind with answers, but to teach it how to question, understand and think.” This is the philosophy I try to bring into my teaching. I have had previous experience teaching and guiding students, and one thing I have learned is that no two students learn in exactly the same way. Some need more time, some need a different explanation, and some simply need someone to make them believe that they are capable of understanding the subject. I don't see teaching as a process of simply completing chapters, giving homework and preparing students for the next test. A good teacher should make a difficult concept feel less frightening and curiosity feel more natural than memorisation. I focus on building strong fundamentals, encouraging students to ask questions without hesitation, and explaining concepts through simple examples and logical connections rather than asking them to blindly remember everything. I also believe that confidence is not something a student either has or doesn't have—it is something that can be built, one small understanding at a time. So when a student tells me “I can't do this,” my first goal isn't to give them the answer; it is to help them discover why they thought they couldn't do it in the first place. My classes are therefore designed to be interactive, patient and personalised. I pay attention not only to whether a student got an answer right, but whether they understood why it was right. I adapt my approach according to the student's pace, strengths and difficulties, while continuously working on their conceptual clarity, problem-solving ability and confidence. Because ultimately, marks measure what a student remembers on a particular day; education should change the way a student thinks long after the class is over. My aim is to help students become not just better performers, but more curious, confident and independent learners.
