You will require at least 9 months to be close to B1 level. I would suggest a class for A1 because in A1 you will get to know basic german words or pronunciations. Yes. It is a language not a rocket science. If enough practice is done you can master it but obviously it is not your mother tongue so the accent will be a bit different.
