The native speakers of german language learn the nouns always along with the gender. So using the correct case also happens naturally for them.

So how we learnt our mother tongue by listening to our parents ; our parents in fact never taught us grammar, we learnt the language structures while listening to them so first milestone of language happens at home only. Learning genders & cases happens only at schools....

Learning genders & cases happens only at schools. First milestone of language helps them to learn second milestone....so gradually they learn these cases and genders. In fact they must be knowing very less about cases and genders and its details. read less
