First of all, there is no such concept as ‘better’ in languages. Choosing a language to learn or learning a foreign language depends entirely on you, on your personal interest and other appeal factors. Both Spanish and French are amongst the most spoken languages in the world. Learning any of these languages can be an asset; it will help you grow both personally and professionally. If you talk in terms of popularity and number of speakers of these languages, then there are about 500 million Spanish speakers and 200 million French speakers worldwide. Spanish is widely spoken in the USA, Mexico, South America, Central America, North and Equatorial Africa, Caribbean, European Union. You’ll also find Spanish speaking minorities in Asia and Oceania. On the other hand, French is spoken in France, Canada, Switzerland, Belgium and French Africa. You’ll also find some French-speaking minorities in Asia and Oceania. If you talk about the difficulty level in learning them, then it is said that Spanish is a lot easier to learn as compared to French, while others disagree with the claim. The truth is, learning a language from scratch is always difficult as it demands dedication, regular practice, and most importantly, it consumes a lot of time. So, the answer to this question may vary from person to person. Moreover, this topic has always been a debatable one. read less
