No language app can make one fluent in any language. I have heard about Duolingo app for French language. As a beginner, you can use the app. You can definitely be rich in basic vocabulary, basic French phrases, some basic grammar but without a real understanding because you need immersion in French, you need to communicate in French. For that you need to be social. You need a human being as a trainer. App is anti- social because you are tapping your phone to learn French, you are not meeting people or a person to communicate in French. read less

je pratique is a good book, alter ego c1 , i think you should read newspaper and native stuff to be through with the exam plus various sites are having exercises. francais facile is also a good option
