It must remain faithful to the text of departure (level of language, respect the style,...) and arrive at a smooth playback and coherent text of arrival in French. The placing in French must be treated ( attention to spelling, conjugation, of agreement, but also of uppercase and punctuation!), and especially, never leave white!!! The names own are to retain unless they have English equivalents recognized (example: the White House-> The White House,...), and except if the choice influences the understanding of the text (including with the nicknames of the characters, places,...).The units are also to translate, to convert when they do not evoke anything in French (dollar will be to keep, but not for example, miles!) Attention also to the preposition which follows the verb English, French, it is that it result in the first (ex: he looked down. -> Il baissa les yeux.) read less
