How different is the French language used in Canada compared to the French from France? Are they mutually intelligible for the most part?

As I travel once in a year regularly to Canada, I can say that French accent & pronunciation are different, occasionally also a grammar too. Canada is a bilingual country so there is a touch of English in their accent. Some of their vocabulary is also different but all these kind of difference which I have mentioned are not that great that you cannot survive. It is like how UK English & US English is different. Also I can give you the example of Hindi language. It is different in all states of India. Few months back I had an Indian student from Switzerland. When I taught her French, I also taught her specific French words which are not normally used in France but in Switzerland only. read less
