No. French belongs to romanic languages with Latin roots. Spanish and Italian are the sister languages to name a few. Whereas German has germanic origins and is rather similar to Swedish, Norwegian and Dutch. Both are very different in terms of Grammar structure, phonetics and vocabulary as well.
