I think, its all about how dedicated and how much practice goes into playing the instrument. Except for that, i think the Trinity degree is only for academic purposes

To teach trinity lessons a teacher should be well versed with a 5 piece kit and should have passed Grade 5 in order to start teaching students for basics and in the meanwhile complete all Grade 8 from trinity to be a professional music teacher to teach higher grades...covering songs can also work but a teacher should be well acquainted with the basic theory part for example counting beats & Rhythm

How do you feather a bass drum?

1 0

Murli replied | 01 Jun

It's a very useful technique.

Sure, "It's felt but not heard" but you do actually hear it. It really adds a nice pulse to the song when you lock in w/ the bass player.

You can also play it so softly that it does just help you keep time. But, then you start to play w/ dynamics, which is cool, you start to add accents on the bass along w/ the feathering.

Practice this;
1- play all limbs at the same time no flamming, very softly w/ a metronome.
2- now bring up the volume of one limb, gradually - bring it back down, gradually
3 - repeat w/ a different limb. «less

What is a practice pad?

1 0

Floyd replied | 28 May

A practice pad is a replica of the drum kit. It can either be a complete drum set or a single pad. It is usually used by drummers to practice while they are traveling or to cut the sound. Sometimes professionals use it as a warm up before their main performance on the real kit. Hope that helps.

Godwin replied | 30 May

Practice pad gives you the feel of a drum but without sound.
