Before drawing anything you have to be a good observer. Observing the thing you want to draw helps you to draw it with utmost perfect. If you are drawing something from your imagination then try to visualise correctly for some time before drawing it.

Teacher for art and english

Something I didn't learn until recently was that you are supposed to warm-up before the actual sketching. It's not necessary, of course, but it helps you have a more steady hand and only takes five minutes.
