To erase charcoal drawings, use a kneaded eraser, shaping it to fit the area and gently dabbing or lifting the charcoal, rather than rubbing, to avoid smudging.

You can use a kneaded eraser, a vinyl eraser, or a cloth to erase charcoal drawings. A kneaded eraser is good for blending and lifting charcoal, while a vinyl eraser is better for removing sharp lines.
